Another enjoyable drive through the Welsh countryside...
...Leading to Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, "The Stream In The Sky". 127 feet above the river Dee, the Llangollen Canal floats in the air as a monument to the industrial revolution. Just barely wide enough for a narrow-boat to traverse the valley, with a little footpath for pedestrians.
(Actually, it was probably intended for use by the ponies that plied the tow-paths and drew the early narrow-boats behind them.)
I'm not afraid of heights, but I was careful with my footing, because if you fall one way you will get a ducking and be grateful that you didn't fall the other way, through the 212 year-old railings!
I enjoyed the visit, but unfortunately I was not able to persuade any of the narrow-boat pilots to give me a lift back over!
Next, Liverpool, for lunch. Nothing special, just some lasagna in pub somewhere.
While in Liverpool, I took a quick butchers at the Metropolitan Cathedral. My interest was architectural rather than spiritual I remember the uproar when the design was announced for this structure. And I've always wanted to see what the fuss was about. When we got there, there it turned out to be graduation day for Liverpool Uni., and there were drunken youths of both genders, literally everywhere you looked.
We stopped on the seafront at Blackpool to see Blackpool Tower. It was the wrong time of day (and quite possibly the wrong time of year) to see the famous "Illuminations", but we were more interested in a cup of coffee.
When the cafe refused to serve us (or more correctly, simply ignored our presence until we were fed up and left), we headed on to our BnB for the night.
Our host met us at the door and showed us to our rooms, then we were given a tour of the house and left to our own devices. We strolled down to the pub for a meal and a bevy, and as we started back, the barman had to run after us because Muggins forgot his cap!
And now, it's time for bed...

Looks like the weather is keeping good for you!
